Aromabar, Things Got To Change
Aromabar was formed by Andreas Kinzl and Roland Hackl in 1998 an debuted in the same year on the INFRACom! compilation "Fast Forward" with "Telephone", which used to turn up in the playlists of Coldcut and Rockers Hifi.
With the release of their first maxi "Where?s Your Moon / Space Patrol" In February 1999 singer Karin Steger became a steady member of the band. "Winter Pageant? appearing on Café del Mar No 7 sold 250.000 copies. In the same year they released their first album "1", featuring the track "Little Brother?, which was remixed by Mo¢Horizons and Vienna Scientist and notched the German Top Ten Clubcharts in September 1999. The video for "Little Brother? rotated on MTV, VIVA and VIVA2 for several weeks.
With their second album "Milk and Honey", being released in 2001, Aromabar left the club sound niche behind. "This time we wanted to go beyond the contemporary electronic scene and reach people who don¢t necessarily go to clubs,? says Roland Hackl, describing the newly defined philosophy of Aromabar.
